"I'm winning, and I don't intend on losing again."

Guys! I'm a winner!

The oh-so lovely Lauren from The Blog You're About to Read (Go read it. Right now. You won't be disappointed.) has found it in her big heart to share with me the Versatile Blogger Award, and I'm beyond honored. Every time I hear the word versatile, I'm immediately reminded of Natalie Portman, and who wouldn't want to be associated with such a gifted human being??

Gaahhh... She's SO versatile!

Anyway, in receiving this award

This one.
I am required to 1) Link back to the person who gave it to me.
                         2) Share seven facts about myself.
                         3) Pass it on to several other deserving bloggers.

The facts, in no particular order:

  • I'm Polish. My great grandparents migrated to America from Poland. (Wow, this is really hard to just think of random things about yourself that you deem worth sharing.)
  • I'm obsessed with shoes. Not fancy, girly shoes, but (white) tennis shoes, Converse and Rocket Dogs.
  • I'm also obsessed with female singer/songwriters.
  • I love pulling pranks on my family members.
  • I could eat chicken and/or eggs every single day and never get sick of them.
  • I love to drive. I've even considered becoming a trucker.
  • I don't particularly want children. If God or my husband decide otherwise, so be it, but it's definitely not a goal of mine.

Day 23 – A song that you want to play at your wedding:

I'm not the stereotypical girl who's dreamt of her perfect wedding day since the age of 5, and who has every single detail all planned out. But I am a girl. And I have thought about certain things I'd like to have at my wedding, including what music I'd like to have played. I'm also very fickle, though, so just because I want it now doesn't necessarily mean that I'll want it when that day comes.

I heard a song by Sade a while ago, and I immediately thought "This would be the perfect song to have my first dance to as a married couple!" And then I found out that Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra had the same idea. -_-
Regardless, it's a beautiful song. I think I'd like my first dance as a married woman to have some sort of significance to it, though, not just something that I hear and think "Oooh, I liiiike this!" So, I guess I'll just say that this would make a great wedding song for someone else... (Sorry, I tend to talk in figure 8s. (Like talking in circles, but more random.))

  1. I have a love hate relationship with driving. Mostly, though, if I have something good to listen to, I can drive on and on with no problems.

    You're versatile like woah. ;)

    Hope all is well,
    Lor

@Whitney Funny, I LOVE being friends with YOU! =)

@Thoughts So not only do I get to be your personal note taker, now I get to be your driver, too?? Oh man, I think I love you. :)

@Apfel Polish, indeed! Come visit me and I'll make you some pierogies! (You know, the ones from a box...)
Love you so, so, so, so much, too!! ♥♥♥

  7. What has the world come to that I immediately thought of Charlie Sheen when I read your title?

    Stupid.

Him, not you. The title is awesome. As is YOUR AWARD! CONGRATS!

  8. Thank you for the award!! That Natalie Portman gif is HILARIOUS. I was like, oh she really thinks Portman is a good actor, but then I saw the gif and cracked up. So true.

I'm Polish too (piergoies on Easter, hey now!), and also have an affinity for Rocket Dogs and Blowfish shoes. Comfort is king. I think being a truck driver would be a really exciting job, but not for me-- I'd have to learn to drive first.

  9. You're right. Natalie Portman is versatile. Loved her in V. And I love garden state even if her character was annoying.

  10. I love driving and I don't even drive.

By which of course I mean I love sitting in the passenger seat singing along to the radio while on a roadtrip.

Damn. I should really get on that whole license thing.

And I love love LOVE Leon, and Natalie P is in that movie so hush now!

  11. @Kaylee I agree! I almost said something along the lines of "Insert Charlie Sheen joke here." but I've kind of made a vow to myself to keep his name out of my mouth. (Or fingers, in this case.)

@Alexandra I've been told that my grandma made the most mind-blowingly amazing pierogies, and apparently I'm the only one to not have tried them. They said she made a huge Polish meal for everyone one night, but I must have had to work or something, because I don't even remember hearing about it. Bastards.

@Lauren I honestly don't have an opinion on Natalie Portman, one way or the other. I just think that GIF is hilarious. :)

@Harley It's always so weird when I hear that people don't know how to drive, or don't have a license. My gosh, I was chomping at the bit to get mine!

I've never heard of Leon, but I just Googled it and it sounds decent. (That's not really my type of movie.) I might have to check it out. :)

  12. I received that award too. I haven't wrote my blog post about it yet though because my blog has a theme to it that doesn't neatly include awards. Guess I'll make a special section for it.

I too enjoy driving. I particularly driving to places I've never been. Gas prices aren't fun however (neither is driving on a rainy night, which I did earlier tonight).

  13. Congrats on the award!

I love driving too. Except I think I'd rather drive an ice cream truck...

Also, pranks are great. Every day is April Fools.

  14. @Rob My current job gives me next to no hours, so I can't afford a vehicle right now. I haven't driven in months, and it's killing me. Not spending money on gas, however, is doing the opposite.

@Shannon Ice cream truck! Great idea! I think you and I are going to get along just fine. :)

  15. YAY!!! Congrats! You deserve it! I love driving too. SOmetimes at night if I can't sleep I just drive around. It calms me down. That sounded really creepy. Scratch that. I like to drive. Thats it.

  16. Oh my gosh, that did not sound creepy. I know exactly what you mean. When I still had a vehicle (I'm still really bitter about the whole situation), I'd drive around at night for hours. It was so calming, and it's when I felt closest to God.

  17. 1. i LOVE this song, and no kidding used to want to play it at my wedding.

    2. i am also the girl who never planned out her wedding though, and ironically, now i actually have to and it SUCKS. so i've been procrastinating... hehe

  18. 1) I knew I loved you!

    2) That will be me, for sure. I'm all for just having a courthouse marriage, and then a rager of a reception. Too much money and too much stress. (I'm a cheap girl with anxiety issues. ☺)

  19. Haha! The Natalie montage is brilliant. Someone asked me why I thought she'd win the oscar and I said, "The same reason John Wayne won in 1969, or Al Pacino in 1992... for doing the same thing she's done in every movie, only moreso."
